in non tarnishing sterling silver.
I come across a lot of people who say they love the look of sterling silver but
dread the upkeep.  I honestly can't say that I blame them - as a busy mom, polishing my silver jewelry hasn't been at the top of my to do list for a loooooong time.  But what if we didn't have to polish our silver jewelry anymore #simplicityisluxury?  Sigh...

One of the things that I love the most about my new silver collection is the type of sterling silver we use.  We use Sterlium Plus Silver from Stuller.  It is tarnish resistant and maintains a modern, bright white color with a high luster finish, which perfectly compliments the look of modern design.  This silver is scratch resistant, contains no nickel alloy (European friendly) and can be age hardened.
So, what's the secret alloy?

Germanium.

Germanium is a metalloid commonly used in semiconductors and fiber optics.  It was discovered in 1885 by the German chemist Clemens Winkler.  If you search the internet you will read many claims that the mineral germanium has many health benefits such as treating allergies, asthma and arthritis, improving the immune system and creating oxygen supply to the body.  Now, I am not about to comment on whether any of that is true or false, but it is definitely fun trivia!
Now, polishing your tarnished silver jewelry is a thing of the past.  Simplicity really is a luxury!
